About

How I can help

As a counsellor and psychotherapist registered through the BACP, I provide a private and independent service.

I offer 1-2-1 work with individuals, and relationship work with people in couples, sibling relationships, friendships, and so on.

Before I trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist, my professional work included six years with national homelessness and mental health charities, and nine years in digital roles with startups and charities. This broad experience has helped me gain insights into a wide array of the challenges that life can throw at us, as well as the helpful or unhelpful ways of coping that we often turn to.

Some of the issues that often come up for my clients include anxiety, relationship and communication issues, life transitions, issues around faith and/or adjusting to post-faith experiences, workplace challenges, and difficulties around guilt and shame.

I keep a fresh approach to my work with regular professional development, including supervision, personal therapy, and training courses. I always work within the latest ethical frameworks, and am subject to my accrediting bodies’ standard complaints procedures.

We’ll work together

My way of working is integrative, so I’m trained and skilled in a number of different ways of working. The approaches I most often draw from include person-centred counselling, attachment therapy, elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and a variety of relationship and developmental frameworks.

My goal is to work flexibly and collaboratively with you, and to stay alongside you in whatever you want to address: people often come to therapy for more than one reason, and discover unexpected ways to make use of it once they’ve started.

If we’re doing relationships/couples work, we’ll focus on experiences and issues that impact the relationship between you. You may be hoping to strengthen and support your relationship, to make a significant life decision together, or find ways to separate in a way that honours both parties. I’ll take my lead from you, and we’ll work together to help sessions be as helpful as possible.

Fees

I offer competitive rates, with fees set by a sliding scale related to income. My goal is always to find a fee that is affordable and sustainable for you, while enabling therapeutic services to be accessible for people with a broad range of financial means.

To find out more, please get in touch by email, phone or submitting the form on this website. I aim to respond to all enquiries within two working days.
